Solid Waste
Kiowa County maintains a sanitary landfill for residents to dispose of typical household waste. The landfill is located at 10263 31st Avenue, or about 3½ miles south of the end of Greensburg's Olive Street on the west side of the road. The landfill accepts the following items:
- Household waste (bagged)
- Yard waste
- Tires (off rims)
- Metal goods, including white goods such as refrigerators and freezers
- Used batteries
- Used oil filters
- Burnt trash
- Carpet
- Paint (dried)
Some items require a fee. All listed fees are for Kiowa County residents only; an additional $10.00 charge plus application fees will apply to non-residents.

The landfill is open Monday through Saturday, 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.
